Our Approach

The WedPro Way

A destination wedding is a statement — a declaration that the setting matters, that the experience of gathering your closest people in a remarkable place is worth every additional effort. At WedPro, we have photographed and filmed weddings across India's most spectacular destinations and internationally across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Indian Ocean. Our team has documented ceremonies at Rajasthan's palace hotels, Goa's cliff-top venues, Kerala's backwaters, the mountain resorts of Uttarakhand, and the heritage havelis of Himachal Pradesh. We know what it takes to transport our full capabilities to any location in the world, and we have developed the systems, relationships, and experience to do it without any reduction in the standard of work.

Pre-travel research is where destination wedding photography is won or lost. Before any of our team sets foot at your venue, we spend hours studying it through available photography, Google Earth satellite views, and conversations with the venue's event coordinators. We note the orientation of buildings relative to the sun at different times of year, identify the spaces within the property that will work best for portraits at different times of day, understand the flow between ceremony and reception spaces, and establish the logistical pathways our team will use on the day. For complex multi-venue heritage properties — a Rajasthan palace where the baraat enters through one gate, the ceremony happens in the courtyard, and the reception is in the gardens — this planning is not optional. It is what separates a team that shoots with confidence from one that is figuring things out while your wedding is happening.

Every element of our standard service travels with us. Our cinema cameras, lighting equipment, backup systems, and full production kit are packed in airline-safe cases with customs documentation for international travel. We work with local fixers and venue coordinators at every destination to ensure our team integrates smoothly into the operational flow of the property. From a single-venue elopement at a Goa cliff-top to a five-day heritage palace wedding with five hundred guests, our process scales without compromise. We have photographed intimate beach ceremonies in the Maldives where the entire team was four people and elaborate palace weddings in Jodhpur where our crew was eight. In both cases, the standard of work was identical.

Indian palace weddings deserve a dedicated paragraph because they represent the pinnacle of destination wedding photography in the country. We have worked at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur — the 347-room Art Deco masterpiece that has been named the world's best hotel — and know its spaces intimately: the library corridor at evening light, the garden fountain at the golden hour, the maharaja's courtyard during the baraat. We have shot at Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, floating at the centre of Lake Pichola, and understand exactly which boat positions on the lake create the reflections that make these images so extraordinary. Samode Palace in Jaipur, Devi Garh above Delwara, Shiv Niwas on the City Palace complex — we bring specific location knowledge to every property we have worked at, and thorough advance research to every property we have not yet visited.

Beach and outdoor destination weddings present a different set of photographic considerations. In Goa, light quality changes dramatically across the season — the golden hour in November is longer and warmer than in March, and the monsoon light of July, while spectacular, requires different technical approaches. We know the north Goa cliff-top venues where the sunset falls perfectly behind the couple at 6 pm in winter, and the south Goa beach properties where the morning ceremony light is softer and more flattering. In the Maldives, the challenge is the equatorial light — brilliant and harsh at midday, breathtaking at the golden hour — and we build our portrait schedule around the conditions we know we will encounter. Monsoon contingency planning is something we always prepare for outdoor weddings in coastal destinations: we have backup lighting and covered location plans for every outdoor shoot.

For international destination weddings in London, Bali, Bangkok, Singapore, and beyond, our preparation includes time-zone briefings with local coordinators, permit research for specific photography locations, and in some cases, partnerships with local fixers who know the legal and logistical landscape. In Bali, for instance, certain temple locations require specific cultural protocols that our team is briefed on before arrival. In London, outdoor photography at heritage locations involves knowledge of permit requirements and time windows. We never arrive unprepared, and we never put our couples' wedding experience at risk through inadequate research. International destination projects are quoted to include full team travel, accommodation, local transport, equipment carnets for customs, and any location-specific permits.

Heritage property photography across India's extraordinary inventory of palaces, havelis, and forts requires a specialist's eye for architecture and light. The arched doorways of Rajasthani havelis create natural frames that require no additional composition effort. The corridors of a Mughal-era fort, with their repeating archways receding into the distance, create perspective lines that make even a simple walking portrait extraordinary. The carved sandstone jaalis — the ornamental lattice windows — filter light into mesmerising patterns that fall across bridal outfits in ways that no studio could replicate. We have spent years studying how light moves through Indian heritage architecture at different times of day, and we bring that knowledge to every heritage destination wedding.

Multi-day destination weddings — the three, four, and five-day celebrations that are the hallmark of grand Indian weddings — require a production structure that sustains peak performance from day one through the final farewell. Our team rotation system ensures that no photographer is running on depleted energy or compromised focus when the most emotionally significant events happen, which is typically on the third or fourth day of a long celebration. We build crew rotation into every multi-day production plan, ensuring consistent quality and consistent attention from the first mehndi to the vidaai.

Travel and accommodation for our team are quoted transparently as separate, itemised line items in your proposal. We never bundle travel costs invisibly into the photography fee or apply undisclosed markups to logistics. Every flight, every hotel night, every local transfer is quoted at actual cost before you commit to a booking. For international projects, we include visa fees, travel insurance, equipment carnets, and excess baggage charges in the transparent travel budget. You know exactly what you are investing in before any deposit is made.

Post-event delivery for destination weddings follows the same standard as our local work, with one additional consideration: the security of your files during transit. All raw files are backed up to three separate locations before our team departs the destination. For international projects involving large volumes of footage and photography, we ship physical hard drive backups separately from the team to eliminate any risk of simultaneous loss. Your gallery and films are delivered digitally via our secure delivery portal with full-resolution downloads and permanent access. The files you receive represent thousands of irreplaceable moments, and we treat their security with corresponding seriousness.
